Leaders Serving... literally!

LHA grad, Jim Rodgers, served up some great brew at the Appalachian Brewing Company'suna_and_jim Camp Hill location on Wednesday night, August 19th. No, he didn't take a job behind the bar; he rolled up his sleeves as a Guest Bartender and donated all of his tips to Leadership Harrisburg Area for scholarships for the Class of 2010. Jim graduated from the Community Leadership Series in May 2009 and wanted to ensure that others can follow in his footsteps without financial barriers.

A total of $1,156.53 was raised through tips and a matching gift from the Capital City Mall. Thank you to all of the thirsty LHA alums and friends who came out in support of Jim! Thank you to the Appalachian Brewing Company for making this event possible and thank you to the Capital City Mall for doubling Jim's efforts.

LHA received over $8,000 in scholarship requests for the Community Leadership Series this year. Support from Wachovia Bank, Harrisburg Young Professionals, and the Guest Bartender event helped LHA issue a portion of the requested funds for the Class of 10. If you were unable to attend the happy hour, but would still like to support LHA, please visit our website at www.leadershipharrisburg.org to make an on-line donation. Leadership Harrisburg Area invites individuals to learn more about Central PA and the importance of actively serving the community. We invite corporations to invest in their workforces by sending an employee through this program and yielding a stronger, more skilled, experienced, and networked employee as a result. We invite community groups and non-profit organizations to send representatives through this program so that they can connect with the people and programs that will support their missions.
