The Latino Hispanic American Community Center is seeking new members for its Board of Directors.  For more information or to express your interest, please contact Jennifer Reyes at reyesj17@nationwide.com.

The Children’s Family Center, cfc-center.org, is seeking new members for its Board of Directors.  For more information or to express your interest, please contact Bill Lupi at william.lupi10@gmail.com

Boy Scouts of America, New Birth of Freedom Council, is seeking volunteers to work in its afterschool program with 1-5th grade students in the Harrisburg School District.  For more information, or to express your interest, please contact Jessica Delp at jessica.delp@scouting.org

The Capital Area Coalition on Homelessness is hosting Project Homeless Connect on September 28 at the Farm Show Complex where hundreds of homeless individuals will gather to receive vital services.  Volunteers are greatly needed.  Please contact Deb Ritchey for more information.  dritchey@hra-harrisburgpa.org

The Cultural Enrichment Fund is recruiting volunteer solicitors to give “5 for the Arts.”  If you are available to give 5 hours of your time to recruit 5 prospective business supporters, please contact Chad Barger.  cbarger@culturalenrichmentfund.org

Leadership Harrisburg Area extends a sincere congratulations to the graduates of its 2012 Community Leadership Series.  Forty business and community leaders completed nearly 100 hours of session time and contributed additional hours working on Team Projects serving these organizations:

  • Community Action Commission
  • Kidney Foundation of Central PA
  • LGBT Center Coalition
  • The Salvation Army
  • Tri County Association for the Blind

One team also worked to create a comprehensive directory of arts, culture and recreation throughout the Capital Region.  Stay tuned for more on that!

The Class of 2012 joins the ranks of nearly 800 CLS graduates from the 25 preceeding classes.

As part of the graduation program on May 16, Senator Jeffrey Piccola presented the inaugural Platinum Award for Servant Leadership to Jerry Ozog, Class of 2004, Director, Safety and Security Training, Shumaker Public Safety Center at HACC.
